Today’s a rest day in Nairobi, the capitol of Kenya. We don’t do all that much, but good food and company make this one of my favorite days of the trip (chocolate cake might’ve had something to do with it).

Little Orphan Elephants in Kenya

Baby elephants! Is there anything more adorable? The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi raises orphan elephants and there’s a public feeding every morning. Prepare for cuteness overload.

Touring the Karen Blixen Museum

A touch of Hollywood in Africa — we visit the home once owned by Danish author Karen Blixen, whose autobiography Out of Africa was based on her life in Kenya. Key props and Meryl Streep’s costumes from the film are on display.
