Temecula Vineyard Visit: Wilson Creek

Last month I visited Wilson Creek Winery in Temecula with a few good friends. I thought about tacking this onto my July 2016 recap, but these photos are good enough to warrant its own quick post!

Wilson Creek is known for its sparkling wine (i.e. champagne) in various flavors — something the French might scoff at, but I can attest that it is delicious. My favorite flavors include their award-winning almond champagne, and their peach champagne. The sangria flavored sparkling wine also caught my attention.

They have a great sprawling outdoor space with lots of picnic tables and a playground for kids. It’s the perfect spot to bring a picnic, drink wine, and enjoy the dry summer heat.

Grace & Rian are members of the Wilson Creek wine club — thanks for bringing us along for the day! And I got to officially meet Jess & Elena, who are both awesome.

Without much consulting beforehand, we brought the perfect mix for a picnic spread — hummus, chips, veggies, pita, fruit, cheese, etc. And then we stopped at a supermarket nearby to pick up fried chicken. Game-changer. Totally brought our picnic up another level.

Also, shout-out to Trader Joe’s for offering a sample of fruit and whipped cream that very morning — I bought it on the spot, along with these waffle cookies, and it made for the perfect dessert.

Wine tasting time!

In addition to the sparking wine, we tried a white cabernet that was really good.

We love you Grace & Rian!!!

We wandered a bit around the grounds — there are lots of seating areas, a restaurant, and part of the vineyard is open for visitors to stroll.
