Welcome to Pismo Beach

I very briefly visited Pismo Beach years ago with my family, and remembered the impressive pier and coastline. After eating lunch in nearby Avila Beach, my friend Jenny and I ventured a few miles south to catch sunset at Pismo.

I can’t get over how green these hills are — it must be thanks to El Nino. Check out the pics in this post taken in fall 2012; the same hills are all brown.

We wander further down the pier; the views on both sides of the coast are beautiful in this light.

Towering waves crash under the pier. Surfers wait for just the one and then ride it towards shore.
