The Milky Way Lagoon

There is a particular lagoon in Palau called the Milky Way. One morning the dive boat stops here en route to our first scuba site. And I find out exactly why this is such a unique spot…

There is white mud within easy reach at the bottom of this lagoon that is purported to have healing powers. Tourists eagerly slather the mud all over their bodies. Either it’s a giant ruse or there’s some truth to it… who knows! Either way it makes for some great photo ops.

These are my new friends Casey, Ivan, and Julie. They are fellow Americans living in Guam (although at the time of this writing, they are back in the States). We hit it off and over the next few days share meals and a lot of laughs together. I am so glad to have met them.

This is Scuba Steve on the left below. He’s a dive master with Fish ‘N Fins, and just happens to be on my boat all three days. He is knowledgeable, kind, and has a great sense of humor.

I have to admit, my skin and hair feels softer after this impromptu mud scrub. Thank you, Milky Way!

Special thanks to the dive company Fish ‘N Fins for providing me with a 20% discount on my activities. As always, opinions are my own.
