Wrapping up Brisbane

The first night I arrive in Brisbane (before the epic city tour), I’m greet with a colorful sunset over the Brisbane River.

This is actually a casino. Sometimes this city is referred to as Bris-Vegas.

On the day following our city tour, I head back to the Brisbane Lagoon to relax for a few hours.

There are showers and changing areas conveniently located on the block adjacent to the lagoon.

Here’s another shot of my favorite bicyclist:

The day before I had the biggest craving for Mexican food, which lead to this Google search:

So there’s no Chipotle in Brisbane. An Emerson friend Sarah (who now lives in Melbourne!) messaged me that there’s a restaurant called Guzman y Gomez worth checking out. But then I stumble upon another Mexican place and decide my need for guacamole can’t wait any longer. Three tacos it is!

And since Max Brenner’s is just across the street (maybe I engineered that coincidence), I stop in for my own cuppa hot liquid chocolate.

Over the course of this afternoon I read The Normal Heart and sip away.

One last look at the lagoon as I reluctantly head to the bus station…

Good-bye, Brissie! Thanks for being so good to me!

    • It was much more than I expected! The walking tour gave me a real appreciation for the scope of this place. It’s a big city without being overwhelming.
